Bent Elbow Power

Here's a recent video from golf.com by Golf Magazine Top100 Teacher John Tattersall It's about how bending your lead elbow can give you more power. I know that sounds strange, but some of the power hitters like J.B. Holmes do it.

Tattersall says that this flow will cost you some accuracy however provide you with more energy by including every other lever in your swing. As lengthy as you straighten your arm fully at effect, you may switch all of that more electricity to the ball.

I would really like to add a notion to what Tattersall says -- namely, which you want to straighten that bent elbow BEFORE you uncock your wrists at impact. (You can see that within the Holmes collection above.) If you don't, your swing might be out of sequence and you may not get that more whack at the bottom. It works like a whip, a ripple impact that starts offevolved at your lead shoulder and works its way out to the club head.

Personally, I assume this is a natural move in case your muscle groups are fairly relaxed for the duration of your swing. If you do not do it naturally -- and specifically in case you honestly tighten your arm muscles in the course of your swing -- I'm now not so sure it's some thing you have to try to upload. As a general rule, I suppose you ought to try to swing so it takes as little aware concept as viable; you simply want to focus on wherein you need the ball to head.
