Today I'm searching back at the Champions Tour... However this will be a reasonably short put up. Why?
Because I do not anticipate a good deal to trade in 2013.
Most of the massive names of 2013 -- Bernhard Langer, Tom Lehman, Michael Allen, and Fred Funk lead this p.C. -- will just maintain doing what they've been doing. We'll see a few up-and-comers like Roger Chapman and Kenny Perry keep their upward push, and I'm seeking out Peter Senior to enroll in the fray after his win in Australia this month. And Steve Elkington will likely make a few noise when he joins the Champions Tour in 2013.
Vijay Singh has made no mystery that he plans to continue focusing at the PGA Tour. I do not anticipate to look him in a Champions Tour occasion unless (1) it is a first-rate -- which may not count number to him either, or (2) there may be no PGA occasion that week and he wants to play besides.
You might also marvel why I haven't mentioned Tom Watson and Fred Couples. Tom have to be apparent. Having been named the 2014 Ryder Cup captain, I expect him to play a chunk greater at the PGA Tour... And whilst he isn't, I suspect he'll be a chunk too distracted to play at the same degree as usual at the Champions Tour. That appears to show up to every body who turns into captain.
As for Freddie, I suppose his back is becoming a bigger difficulty than he's letting on. I believeI heard that the lower back treatment he is had to visit Germany for is going to be made prison in the US, so it is going to be extra with ease to be had... However it seems to were much less effective in the previous few months. I can best anticipate that's because of deterioration in his condition. I desire I'm wrong, but he did cut lower back on his gambling schedule as 2012 wound down.
All-in-all, it will be business-as-usual for the older set... and I'm not sure that will be particularly newsworthy. The Champions Tour still needs something to give it a unique identity, and I'm not sure we'll see that arrive in the coming year....
But we can desire.
