Ode to a Golf Ball

I posted this over on my Will Shakespeare for Hire site and... well, I'm pretty proud of it so I'm posting it here as well. I think most of us can relate to it. And with so much golf on TV today (and it starting so early as well) it seems to be a good time for a short post like this. Have a laugh!

How recklessly! How recklessly

The dimpled spheroid sails

Out beyond the golf green?S obstacles

Where penalty prevails!

Despite a good deal practice at our craft,

Despite high-priced golf equipment,

Still doth the dimpled spheroid are trying to find

Its refuge ?Neath the shrubs.

Indeed, in private wooded area gloom

The dimpled spheroid hides;

We hear its mocking ?Thock, thock?

As with each tree it collides.

Yet nonetheless, each week we will go back,

Our hopes for all time soaring

As with the dimpled spheroid

We renew the past week?S warring.
