Martin Hall's Drill to Chip Like Steve Stricker

Here's a video of Martin Hall and Sara Brown teaching how to chip like Steve Stricker. (Yes, I recognize he calls it pitching within the video however, as Paul Azinger keeps telling us, pitches use the bounce and chips use the leading edge. This technique makes use of the main aspect.)

At any rate, Martin's drill uses a tennis sweat band -- the kind that is going round your wrist, now not your head.

The idea, of path, is to dispose of the flippy wrist movement that causes you to hit the ball fats and skinny. You choke down at the grip a touch and the sweatband holds the grip against your forearm so your wrist stays firm in the course of the chipping motion.

This is not a new drill, by means of the way. Lee Trevino also teaches this drill to assist research proper chipping approach... However he uses thick rubber bands in place of a sweat band. Same precept although.

And the exceptional thing is that you could use this drill internal, for the duration of the iciness, while it is too bloodless to go out of doors. Just make certain you don't do it on the coolest carpets for the reason that leading edge of the club will cut thru and you will have to replace them. (And yes, lamentably, I found out that from firsthand enjoy so you do not have to.)

And right here's the golfchannel.Com hyperlink in case you can't get the embedded video above to play.
