The Second-Guessing Game Resumes

The massive information on Friday was that Tiger may not play at Bay Hill.

But it became no wonder that the hypothesis approximately Tiger's recreation ramped up once more, nearly as much as if there had been an actual Tiger sighting.

Tiger

Ironically, no person within the media had seen Tiger in any respect. (Except for maybe Notah Begay. Technically, I'm no longer certain he should depend as a media man.) All we've are reviews that Tiger has been operating actual difficult at the range and on the path, as well as Tiger's declaration announcing that he is "making strides" in his sport however is not ready for high time but.

And we have things like this Golf Digest article making fun of Tiger's statement. I don't really have a problem with that one -- it's clearly intended as a joke. What's sad is that the joke is basically a parody of what the rest of the media is doing with such great seriousness.

Every word that Tiger says (or writes) is placed underneath the microscope, isn't always it? Everybody hopes that they'll be the ones to divine the undisclosed reality approximately whilst -- or if, relying on who you ask -- Tiger gets his recreation lower back on course sufficient to let the relaxation people see it.

And all of us recognize the purpose for this second-guessing, do not we? It's because absolutely everyone (and their brother) thinks they could straighten Tiger out in 15 mins or so.

The truth is that it's going to take more than 15 minutes. That's because the problem almost certainly does have a mental aspect to it -- not necessarily the yips, but simply confusion. Tiger has traditionally sorted out these sorts of problems pretty quickly. The fact that he hasn't done so yet almost certainly means he isn't sure exactly what the solution is... and once he figures it out, it will take some more time to make sure the proper routine is second nature to him.

That sort of information may not be parsed from any declaration we're probable to peer from Tiger -- this is, until the announcement says "I'm gambling this week."

I assume I'll watch for that one.
