Can Mel Reid Get It Done?

I do not get to write about the LET very often due to the fact we here within the US typically get tape-delayed tournaments as opposed to live ones. This week is a satisfied exception, as the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open runs from Sunday to Wednesday and GC is displaying it live.

Mel Reid

Today is a huge day for Mel Reid. She hasn't gained due to the fact mid-2012, about a month after her mother turned into killed in a car coincidence. Mel says she got here returned out on Tour a whole lot too soon and has been suffering to get her recreation lower back on course ever on the grounds that. This week could change things for her.

The route they are gambling at Carya Golf Club this week is a par-73 and Mel came out firing, capturing -8 and -four in her first two rounds to take a 3-shot lead. Tuesday (the third spherical) failed to run as smooth; she shot a 1-over 74. But as she instructed the media:

?It turned into sincerely difficult this afternoon. The greens are borderline unplayable, they're so organization. We have been struggling to keep wedges onto it and Gwladys [Nocera] hit a couple of actually satisfactory chips and they ran out 15 yards. It turned into difficult. I constantly felt like I become in among clubs. I turned into desiring a nine and a 1/2 iron, 8 and a half iron. I?M pretty glad in a manner that I?Ve performed it in those situations due to the fact with a bit of luck the following day I can play a chunk higher.?
Nocera is playing with a painful tendon injury in her right ankle and, while she stayed pretty close the first two days, it was Pam Pretswell who closed the gap to a single stroke by the end of play. Most of the players seconded Reid's description of a faster drier course, and it's likely to get even faster today given the weather forecast -- more sun.

Mel Reid were given her first seasoned win at the 2010 Turkish Airlines Ladies Open, so she has top feelings there. But she's had hassle placing four true rounds together lately; optimistically the 0.33 round may be her worst and she'll light it up nowadays, getting her career lower back on target.

GC's final round coverage begins this morning at 7am ET.

[ WEDNESDAY UPDATE: Mel shot an even par 73 and won by 4 shots. Welcome back to the winner's circle, Mel!]
