Jason Day on the 18th after sinking the winning putt

No, there still hasn't been a Canadian champion on the Canadian Open in sixty one years. David Hearn sincerely gave it a brave run, one he can be happy with -- in particular considering the fact that he didn't have any preceding wins to attract on while trying to win his countrywide Open.

But, as you can see from the photograph above, it become a better Day for Jason.

You recognise, we've got all been truly lopsided in our coverage of Jason Day. We've documented the vertigo troubles on the US Open and the exceptional terrible climate play at ultimate week's Open Championship that got here up a single shot short. But we have not made a whole lot of Jason's win earlier this season at the Farmer's Insurance Open (at Torrey Pines, actually a difficult music) or his different four Top5 finishes, all done at the same time as the vertigo changed into still a problem.

The RBC Canadian Open is his 2nd victory this calendar 12 months, and he got it after a draining revel in on the Open, which supposed he needed to make the time exchange adjustment with less-than-ordinary recuperation time. He even remembered to hit that very last putt difficult enough to get it to the hole -- despite the fact that, admittedly, the path wasn't almost as moist this time so he probably could have gotten the speed right without St. Andrews on his mind.

But Jason picked up a big match with this win -- possibly not as huge as the Opens that were given away, however a massive one nevertheless. And so he gets an equally massive Limerick Summary to assist him celebrate it -- although I confess that I suppose ALL the Limerick Summaries are a massive deal:

Two Opens avoided his draw close

But Jason determined victory at closing!

Could this Open portend

A large Whistling Straits win
