This week Lydia Ko is going for her 1/3 Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic name in as many years, and once more it's in high-time. (At least, it's miles here on the East Coast of the US.)
The Lake Merced Golf Club in Daly City CA (close to San Francisco) may be very near some of guides familiar to PGA Tour fanatics -- San Francisco Golf Club, Olympic Club and TPC Harding Park. It was firstly designed in the early Twenties by means of Willie Locke, redesigned inside the past due Nineteen Twenties by means of Alister MacKenzie (possibly pleasant recognized for his paintings on Augusta National), redesigned again in the mid-1960s by using Robert Muir Graves, after which once more in 1996 with the aid of "US Open Doctor" Rees Davies.
And Lydia Ko is the simplest winner it has recognized because it became the house of the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic.
As regular, Tony Jesselli has completed a preview of the event at his weblog, so I might not repeat what he is already finished. But as Tony says, this is a robust subject -- 9 of the Top10 inside the Rolex Rankings are within the subject (Inbee Park has withdrawn due to a ligament damage in her thumb) and all the 2016 LPGA winners will tee it up.
One exciting storyline to observe this week worries In-Gee Chun. After missing a month with a again hassle, she has managed to move up to #6 inside the Rolex. This has put her within the third spot for the very aggressive Korean team, for both the International Crown and the Olympic Team. Sei Young Kim is a trifling .12 points ahead of her, and HaNa Jang now sits inside the precarious fourth spot .22 factors behind. This is a degree of ways proper In-Gee is gambling, as each Kim and Jang have wins each while In-Gee has yet to win this season.
As I said, this event will be broadcast in prime-time on GC starting at 6pm ET Thursday and it should be a very entertaining event. The last two Swinging Skirts events have gone right to the wire, and this one will likely be no different.
