The subsequent FedExCup occasion starts these days (2:30pm ET on GC). The Web.Com Tour is of their 2nd playoff event as nicely. And the European Tour is attempting to finalize their Ryder Cup crew.
But it is Brooke Henderson up at the Cambia Portland Classic who has my attention today.
I love this picture, together with her hair flying everywhere in the area. That's likely a great metaphor for the way she feels after her win closing week -- everything is in movement, and she or he has no idea where it will come to be! I recognise both she and her caddie/sister stated they had been worn out after Thursday's round.
And I can not help however agree with she feels a few pressure this week. Although a win in Portland wouldn't be as big as her win at the Women's Canadian Open final week, she has won this occasion two instances before. A third win could tie her with Nancy Lopez, the most effective three-time winner of the event.
Given Brooke's competitive attitude, I consider she's setting some strain on herself irrespective of what she says.
For those of you who haven't already checked it out, Tony Jesselli's preview of the event is at this hyperlink. You should already be aware that defending champ Stacy Lewis is not defending due to the fact she's on maternity depart from the excursion. Again, Brooke has already received this occasion two instances -- in 2015 (when she Monday certified her manner in) and in 2016, making her the most latest champion of the event to be gambling.
Despite being tired, Brooke fired an eight-under 64 on Thursday, putting her just two strokes behind leader Marina Alex (who went just stupid low with a 62). Can she keep it up? You can find out at 6:30pm ET today , just after the PGA Tour broadcast.
