My Tuesday Twofer picks continue to struggle. I picked Joaquin Niemann (T23) to win and Doc Redman (MC) to Top10. Ironically, my picks from the week before, Viktor Hovland and Matthew Wolff, both finished in the Top13. Clearly I need to get my watch and calendars fixed.

Matthew Wolff did much better than just a Top13, of course. In only his third start as a pro, he pulled off the biggest coup of them all. And he did it in style, with an eagle on the 18th to cap the eagle Bryson DeChambeau had just posted to take the lead from him! It used to be the more established players who taught the youngsters how to win. Now it appears that there's very little time for anybody to become established, and the youngsters are teaching the class!

To be honest, I think the issue I will convey away maximum from this win is seeing Matt crumble into his caddie's arms, crying. It's first-rate to recognise that, as a good deal as he seems to thrive under the stress, he is not complete of himself. He became nevertheless able to recognize how special his accomplishment became and how lucky he turned into to get it achieved so quickly.

That, and him giving his hat to a younger fan at the same time as signing autographs, then posing with him even as the younger guy's dad snapped a image. It seems that Rickie Fowler's influence isn't always going away any time quickly!

So it is a real satisfaction to present Matt a headstart on his young Limerick Summary collection. And he can also thoroughly amass a massive one, given how appropriate his call appears to be.
