At the time I'm scripting this, Louis is co-leading the WGC-HSBC Champions so I idea this video became appropriate. Please note that even as Louis mentions his favorite tempo drill, it's what he says later in the video it is absolutely critical.
You've no question seen his drill often before. Simply positioned your feet together and hit 60- to 70-backyard pitch shots. The photographs are long sufficient to require a longish swing with out you feeling the stress to swing tough.
But it is certainly the key, in step with Louis:
"You generate your electricity along with your frame from the pinnacle, glaringly taking place and simply rapid at the bottom, however it is a tough thing to reflect onconsideration on, that 'when I get here I'm going to boost up.' I suppose it's extra getting the entirety else in role and once you get to that downswing, the entirety is going to be in role this is going to show up evidently, in place of pass begin on the pinnacle and absolutely swing fast and you will swing yourself out of position, and it would not matter what you do at the bottom, your timing is not going to be the equal. I think it is a extra herbal issue as a way to all fall in vicinity in case you get the whole thing in position inside the right manner."Do you understand what he's saying? If you attempt to swing fast from the pinnacle, you may damage your tempo. You've got to give your swing time to get up to speed, even though that Feels slower. Louis is a long hitter. He knows that feelings can fool you, and if you feel fast at the top you're probably going to be slower at the bottom because you've ruined your tempo. Instead, you create your fastest speed at the bottom when it Feels slower at the top, because it gives your whole body time to properly create that speed.
Sounds weird, I realize. But that's simply the manner swing mechanics work... And Louis is an excellent example of how powerful this kind of swing can be.
