Bo Van Pelt's Feet

I was reading the November issue of Golf Digest and found a short article by Bo Van Pelt. Given how well Bo has played this year -- and is playing this week in Kuala Lumpur -- I thought I'd pass along what he says has been the key to his improvement over the last few years.

Bo Van PeltBo stated he used to make all varieties of modifications for every swing -- changing ball function, stance width, specific feels for distinct photographs, etc. He said it became simply too many shifting elements to develop any form of consistency. So he simplified all of it.

Now he just modifications his stance, narrowing it whilst he wishes to hit a low shot and widening it while he wishes a high shot, and each his ball function and swing live the equal.

Although he would not spell it out pretty this without a doubt, I assume -- from his rationalization inside the article -- that he simplest moves his trailing foot when he modifications his stance width. The ball is always the same distance from his lead foot. This way, when he widens his stance, he simply movements his trailing foot again and receives the effect of transferring the ball forward in his stance -- simply what he wishes to get a higher trajectory. Likewise, when he narrows his stance, shifting his trailing foot closer to the ball successfully movements the ball returned in his stance, giving him a lower trajectory.

This is a simple manner to manipulate the trajectory of your pictures... And if it really works this properly for Bo, why not give it a strive?

The picture got here from Bo's web page at PGATOUR.Com.
