At least it is night right here in North Carolina. Since the GC declares of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia are stay, it is noon over there. But that doesn't alternate the heat -- and I'm no longer referring to the temperature in Malaysia.
Lexi Thompson blistered the direction in the course of the second spherical (Thursday night) while she went 6-underneath in 5 holes, eventually posting an eight-underneath 63 that placed her at -12. That was one off the lead of Ilhee Lee. As I'm looking tonight (Friday night time) Lexi has already gone 3-under in her first 7 holes to take the lead at -15. (Ilhee continues to be at -13.)
Shanshan Feng (last week's winner) is in third area at -10 with I.K. Kim, and Suzann Pettersen is in fifth region with Anna Nordqvist at -nine. Anna's the massive mover nowadays -- she's long gone 6-under in 13 holes to move up from twenty ninth vicinity.
Paula Creamer became tied with Anna and Suzann till she made a nasty double-bogey at the seventh. Still, she's tied with So Yeon Ryu, Karine Icher, and Amy Yang at -7 (T7).
And simply behind them is a set at -6 (T11) with Beatriz Recari, Pornanong Phatlum, and Michelle Wie, amongst others. (Yes, Michelle is playing well after a hard first round.)
Although it's awkward watching golf at this overdue hour -- in reality I'm now not going to see all of it -- it is nonetheless first-rate to peer GC making an attempt to broadcast the girls even as they're honestly gambling. They're really being rewarded with a few critically proper play. After all, Inbee Park gained it closing year with a very last score of -15.
Right where Lexi is as I write this. Who is aware of wherein she -- and the other gals -- will be when you examine it? The very last spherical is scheduled for tonight (Saturday) at nighttime ET, so that you might need to try and trap a number of it. The fine of the golf has been tremendous.
The picture came from this golf.Com article about the second spherical.
