It's finally time for the Champions Tour players to play a major. (Of course, some of them played at the Masters but that's not their major, if you know what I mean.) In this case, it's the Regions Tradition where Kenny Perry is the defending champion.
Although Kenny has performed extra PGA Tour activities this season than Champions Tour occasions -- 7 versus 4 -- his exceptional finishes were on the "old men excursion," including a playoff loss at the Insperity Invitational simply a couple of weeks ago. He need to be in precise shape to mount his defense this week.
Fortunately for him, his opposition could be truly less intimidating. Davis Love is out due to foot surgical procedure, Vijay Singh is on the Wells Fargo Championship (right here in NC, about 90 minutes south of me), and Miguel Angel Jimenez is over in Spain to shield his title on the Open de Espa?A.
Unfortunately, Kenny is at #22 within the Schwab Cup Race... However with the exceptions of Jimenez and Rocco Mediate, it seems like everybody in advance of him is gambling this week!
This must be a quite excellent occasion. The Shoal Creek direction has hosted 2 PGA Championships and typically gives the gamers all they are able to take care of.
