The LET Season Gets Underway

I know, you were expecting me to gush all over the Pebble Beach event. Au contraire, mon ami! The LET is playing their first event of 2016 this week.

Lydia Ko with trophy

The ISPS HANDA New Zealand Women?S Open is Lydia Ko's home event and he or she's the defending champion, of course. And because the first round is finishing up as I write this, I can tell you that Lydia is T5 at -3, three pictures off the lead, and it seems like she'll nonetheless be 3 off the lead when all and sundry finishes. She's tied along with her fellow Kiwi, Cathryn Bristow.

While I don't recognize some of the names at the leaderboard, I do understand first spherical leader Nicole Broch Larsen. She's from Denmark, received the Helsingborg Open closing 12 months, and is one of these gamers you will probably be seeing on a Solheim Cup group quite quickly.

I additionally understand French player Gwladys Nocera, who has gained 15 times around the sector and is currently T3 with Pamela Pretswell, a Scottish player I've heard of but whose game I am now not acquainted with.

Currently in solo second is a brand new call for me, Justine Dreher, a French rookie on the LET this year. It'll be thrilling to peer how she holds up in opposition to the 'veterans'.

I hate that we do not get to look a lot of the LET over right here in America. If we are fortunate, GC will replay the remaining round or sometime next week; they do not do that with among the occasions. But the reality that Lydia Ko is playing in this one can also provide us a chance to look a number of it.

We can hope, besides. In the interim I'll simply need to accept watching the leaderboard alternate on my pc.
