It turned into only a few months in the past that Dame Laura Davies blitzed the sphere on the Senior Women's Open by ten strokes. And whilst she doesn't look to position on that sort of display this week, Laura is once more in the lead at the LPGA Senior Championship.
It's been bloodless and windy on the French Lick path in Indiana (and for those of you overseas who might not recognize, French Lick IN is famous for being the home of NBA legend Larry Bird) so it is put a bit of a damper on the scoring. After two rounds there are most effective 9 players beneath par and Laura has a two-shot lead at -6 (sixty eight-70).
Laura finished her first round with bogeys, then brought greater in the first four holes of her 2nd spherical earlier than righting the ship to take the second spherical lead. Her closest competitor, Brandie Burton, has been on a roller coaster, taking pictures 74-sixty six. And the oldest participant in the discipline, Jane Crafter, is at -three after rounds of 70-seventy one. Silvia Cavalleri is likewise at -3, however it is difficult for me to agree with she's antique enough to be in this discipline (LPGA seniors begin at forty five).
Perhaps that just indicates my very own age.
Anyway, the final round is today. I'm going to miss it because of work but at least I can check the scores on the LPGA's live leaderboard. If you're where you can watch it, GC will carry it at 4-6pm ET.
I'll be interested to look if Laura can make it two in a row, regardless of the victory margin. She's truely making an awesome go of it thus far.
