Here's a link to teaching pro Tom Patri's drill for enhancing your purpose. He calls it 'Target Line USA'.

The picture above shows the exercise setup for the drill. There's a 2x4 laying at the floor outdoor his swing route, an alignment stick laying right on his swing course in the front of the ball -- the 2x4 and stick are parallel to each other -- and some other alignment stick stuck vertically within the floor about five feet in advance of him on the same line as the first alignment stick.
Now, while Tom says you can work on your mechanics on the range using this drill if you need to, he is specifically interested in using the drill purely as a way to get you thinking about your target. To that end, you don't necessarily want to think about anything but just hitting the ball over that vertical stick in front of you!
The idea is to get you in the attitude of simply thinking about wherein you need the ball to head whilst you're actually gambling golfing. The sticks simply help you visualize the beginning flight of the ball.
You can also use this drill to practice curving the ball by using aiming the 2 courses on the guides on the ground within the direction you want to begin the ball, then hitting the ball to the left or proper of the stick and looking to curve it lower back. In either case, you don't worry approximately your swing -- you simply try and get the ball to move where you need it to!
I really just like the concept of education yourself to be target-oriented rather than mechanics-orientated. This drill is a good one to help you make that attitude a extra natural a part of your sport.
