The Kia Classic is the LPGA's remaining event before the first foremost of the year, the ANA Inspiration. So we will get to look quite a few gamers getting ready.
In his preview to the occasion, Tony Jesselli says the Kia has as strong a discipline because the Founders Cup did final week. Eun-Hee Ji is the protecting champion at the Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad CA (yes, we are nevertheless at the West Coast, because of this greater high time coverage).
Just as an aside, you may recall that Ji won TWO Kias at last year's event -- one for winning the event and a second one for her hole-in-one at the 14th hole on Sunday. And based on what she told lpga.com, she's been driving both of them. It must be nice to be an LPGA winner!
I wager the largest information up to now is the final-minute withdrawal by using Michelle Wie. It's that wrist damage once more, and it puts an appearance at next week's ANA in query. Given that she's by no means missed a Kia occasion inside the ten years it's been around, that wrist is a real trouble.
And personally, I'm a bit bummed that the Korda sisters are skipping this week. I understand that they want to prepare for the ANA and that they probably need some rest after those T2 finishes at the Founders Cup. But that doesn't mean I didn't want to see what they could do this week!
Bear in mind that GC's coverage of the first two days is tape-delayed. (Makes sense, with so much match play golf to cover.) When the Round of 16 starts on Saturday, the Kia coverage goes live. But in the meantime, Thursday's Kia coverage starts at 9pm ET.
