The LPGA Goes Back to the Races

Of course I refer to the Indy Women In Tech Championship, held at Pete Dye's Brickyard Crossing Golf Course -- which is part of the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway race facility, aka the Brickyard, where the Indy 500 race is held.

Defending champion Sung Hyun Park

Tony Jesselli has a preview of the event at his web page -- as usual -- which you may pop over and examine to get extra technical information. I without a doubt love the truth that this occasion is played at a well-known race song, specially this track. The Indy 500 is the sector's oldest car race -- sure, open cockpit race automobiles, much like Grand Prix motors for my remote places readers. The Brickyard 400, a NASCAR inventory automobile race, is also held there. And that does not even encompass the bike racing and other forms of races which are or have been held there.

And the winner of the golfing match receives to participate within the traditional Indy 500 victory celebration, which incorporates kissing the bricks, dousing herself in milk and taking a victory lap. Pretty cool!

Sung Hyun Park finished closing year's event in a useless heat with Lizette Salas, then beat Salas on the primary playoff hollow. It will be interesting to peer how things finish this year, especially since the LPGA's dominator, Jin Young Ko, and closing week's winner in Europe, Nelly Korda, are taking the week off.

GC's coverage begins Thursday afternoon at 3pm ET, leading into the Safeway Open. I'll leave all the drinking and driving jokes to you readers out there; I'm just going to enjoy the golf.
